With a range of Defender models to choose from, you can decide the best features that are right for your organisation, including FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and Common Criteria Certifications, SuperSpeed USB 3.0, physical write-protect switch, and remote management capabilities. The Defender series provides the best solution for complying with stringent government regulations and security laws. Furthermore, all Defender® USB drives are fully protected from “badUSB” with digitally-signed RSA--2048 secure firmware.
In addition to the outstanding secure features of Kanguru's hardware encrypted flash drives, the added USB security benefits of Kanguru Remote Management cannot be overstated. With KRMC™ (Kanguru Remote Management Console™) business owners and IT administrators can monitor, track, manage, update, wipe or disable lost or stolen drives and more from anywhere in the world. Visit Kanguru's Remote Management options to learn more.
The Kanguru Defender series offers the most advanced security options, convenience and data portability available. With top-of-the-line security features, they are the most robust solution you can get in hardware encrypted USB flash drives.
256-bit AES Hardware Encryption
Kanguru uses FIPS validated AES 256-bit Hardware encryption (XTS-Mode) to secure data contents stored on the USB drive. Since the cryptographic processes are all done in hardware, there is virtually no performance impact when transferring data, unlike the severe performance impact when using software encryption programs.
XTS-mode also provides enhanced security when used to encrypt large blocks of data (as in GB’s) as it eliminates certain vulnerabilities and patterns which might be exploited in earlier symmetric key implementations. In addition, the password matching and other security operations are all done in the secure confines of the tamper-resistant, epoxy encapsulated cryptographic processor. In short, your data can not be compromised.
FIPS 140-2 Certification
FIPS 140-2 is a high-level certification that helps organisations meet and exceed the high demands of security regulations and standards including HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, GLBA, etc.
FIPS 140-2 is a joint Certification program between NIST (National Institute of Standards) in the United States, and CSE (Communications Security Establishment) in Canada. It provides government guidelines regarding the security evaluation for cryptographic modules. Kanguru Solutions demonstrates that by meeting the threshold of FIPS 140-2, Defender drives have strong, tamper evident protections in place to prevent unauthorised access, attack, or brute force attempts to gain access to the sensitive data.
RSA-2048, Digitally-signed Secure Firmware
Protect even more than just your data. Protect your network and infrastructure as well from malware tampering with built-in RSA-2048, Digitally-Signed Secure Firmware.
Designed in compliance with NIST's requirements for securing device firmware, Defender drives are protected from "badUSB" to prevent malware attacks by a third-party. In the event of such an attack, the drive is designed to shut down, preventing the flash drive from being used as a vehicle for hackers. This makes Kanguru ideal, trusted encrypted USB drives for whitelisting in an endpoint security environment.
ON-BOARD, WORLD-CLASS ANTIVIRUS BY BITDEFENDER®
Every Kanguru Defender hardware encrypted flash drive comes with integrated onboard antivirus by award-winning BitDefender (30-day FREE trial).
Built right into the flash drive, the antivirus consistently scans the drive in the background, ensuring that all of your files will be safe and protected from viruses.
Tamper Proof Design
Kanguru Defender flash drives' casing is protected with an epoxy compound that is water resistant and prevents physical access to the chip. Any subversive attempt to remove the epoxy compound destroys the flash chip, rendering it unusable and inaccessible.
Remotely Manageable
Using Kanguru Remote Management Console™ (KRMC)™, this robust, optional feature gives the ability for a security administrator to control an entire fleet of Defender hardware encrypted drive(s) from anywhere in the world. KRMC provides clients with a choice between two convenient management systems: - Secure Cloud interface or Self-hosted Enterprise on client's secure server.
As the administrator, you can remotely wipe and/or delete drives that are lost or stolen, manage device configurations (passwords, policies, and activity), ensure drives are in compliance with set security policies, and much more.
Self-Service Password Management
If you've ever forgotten your password, you know how upsetting it can be to not be able to access your data.
